No other film has been parodied more than Der Untergang  ("Downfall"), the 2004 Oliver Hirschbiegel  film about Hitler's final days in his Berlin bunker. The onscreen dialog from the capitulation scene (combined with most people's ignorance of the German language and the emergence of user-friendly video editing programs) make "Downfall" a very easy film to lampoon. You've all seen the original one, featuring frustrated Dallas Cowboys fan Hitler lamenting yet another wasted season - a remarkably clever interpretation that went viral almost immediately. While imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery, some of the imitations out there are pretty lame and blatant ripoffs.

Sports fans have used the scene to bewail the Detroit Lions 0-16 season and the new Formula One series. Computer geeks have produced several, including ones skewering Bill Gates, and Twitter. Gamers have featured Hitler bitching about the XBox, World of Warcraft, and the Dragonball Z movie, while politicos have ones starring Hillary Clinton and Gordon Brown. Epicurists show Hitler jonzing for pizza and Mexican food, and aviators have used it to lampoon airline management and delays in the Boeing 787 program. Probably the most troubling is one posted by an Israeli guy, which features Hitler bemoaning the parking woes in Tel Aviv.

For those of you curious about how the actual scene from the movie played out, here it is. Make sure you hit "skip this ad" at the beginning so you don't have to watch a commercial:
