Love this Tim Martins crap, the subject of the "Mature Beyond His Years" article from the April issue of ALPA mag. Tim, who apparently is an F/O for American Eagle...and I write "apparently" because who knows with this guy...claims to be; an FDNY member of Ladder Company Two in Manhattan...an F-16 pilot with the NJANG...a NYC paramedic...a soup kitchen volunteer...a deep water rescue diver...a pilot for Southwest...a pilot for American Airlines...a 737 captain...oh, the list goes on and on.
ALPA initially tried sweeping queries under the rug when discrepancies were first brought to their attention. They finally started to do a little fact-checking on Tim-the-Wonder-Boy AFTER the article was published and AFTER telling people who asked "is this guy for real?" to go stuff it.
I say this guy should get prosecuted under "stolen valor". Apparently he's been playing up the fighter pilot and FDNY firefighter gig lies for a few years.
I'd call him knucklehead, but that's an affront to all knuckleheads.
The best is the last line of the article, a quote from a somewhat misguided Ray Nicholl, an F/O at Delta who nominated Martins for this illustrious shine-job article: "He is what ALPA stands for. Tim is ALPA."
Fake-sters? Pathalogical Liars? No wonder our union is so screwed up.
