Womyn at Work

I once heard the concept of political correctness described as  "a doctrine fostered by the delusional, vociferous minority  which holds forth the erroneous proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." Enter Cynthia Good, editor and co-founder of Pink magazine, which according to their website "exists to promote [a]new generation of women who are making a significant impact on the world through their work and their lives-while being true to themselves."

One of Cynthia's recent significant impacts was to successfully lobby the city of Atlanta to replace dozens of "Men at Work" signs posted at work sites around the city with ones that say "Workers Ahead" -- at a cost to taxpayers of $144 each.

"We're calling on the rest of the nation to follow suit and make a statement that we will not accept these subtle forms of discrimination," Good stated.

Subtle discrimination?  Dictionary.com gives a rather straightforward definition of the word man: "a member of the species Homo sapiens or all the members of this species collectively, without regard to sex". Pretty cut and dried. Ms. Good reminds me of the man haters that used to parade around campus proclaiming themselves to be "womyn", too offended by the traditional English spelling of their gender.

This numbskull ought to be more concerned about the appelation she gave her magazine --  had this story not hit the wires,  most would have assumed "Pink " was just another pornographic spank magazine...
